As part of its Travel With Purpose program, Hilton Worldwide has partnered with Stop Hunger Now to offer meal-packing opportunities to business travelers. "We wanted to engage the heart and spirit of our customers," said Rob Scypinski, Hilton senior vice president of industry relations and events for the Americas. Although Hilton had been exploring fitness-program competitions with some of its corporate clients, the opportunity to participate in community outreach - and possibly fulfill CSR requirements while on the road - proved far more popular.

Typically, a Stop Hunger Now event involves 40 to 50 volunteers packing about 10,000 meals in two hours. Travelers simply show up in casual attire to participate.

Hilton has scheduled these nine events through the end of the year, each beginning at 6 p.m.:

Hilton McLean (Va.), Sept. 15
Conrad Indianapolis, Sept. 19
The Waldorf Astoria (New York City), Sept. 23
Hilton Chicago, Nov. 4
The Palmer House Hilton (Chicago), Nov. 4
Hilton Minneapolis, Nov. 4
The Marquette (Minneapolis), Nov. 4
Hilton Los Angeles Airport, Nov. 10
New York Hilton Midtown, Dec. 7

The company intends to expand the program and is looking at ways to integrate such events into corporate booking tools. "A year from now, I would like to say we've done this in hundreds of our hotels," said Scypinski.
