Hilton Hotels is now managing the former Loews Madison Hotel, which has been renamed the Madison Washington DC, a Hilton Hotel. The 356-room property, about four blocks north of the White House, features more than 12,000 square feet of meetings space.

"We are delighted this distinguished hotel will join the Hilton family, strengthening our presence in the nation's capital," said Shawn McAteer, vice president of global brand management for Hilton Hotels & Resorts. "We look forward to welcoming discerning travelers seeking an exceptional experience at the intersection of the city's quintessential offerings."

Amenities at the hotel include a 24-hour business center, a lobby bar called the PostScript, a three-meal-a-day restaurant, the Barista Bar Starbucks station, and a fitness center with his-and-her steam rooms and views of downtown D.C.

The Loews once was home to chef Jose Garces' Rural Society, an Argentine steakhouse within the Loews Madison; the two-year-old restaurant closed earlier this year.
