In Mexico, the Holiday Inn Resort Puerto Vallarta will close Aug. 15 to undergo extensive renovations in order to be rebranded as the Sunscape Puerto Vallarta, a family-friendly all-inclusive brand from AMResorts. The property will reopen in mid-December this year, with more than 300 rooms, six restaurants, six bars, an Explorer's Club for kids and a spa.

The property currently offers five event rooms, although details have not been released regarding how much event space will be available following the renovation.

The resort is within walking distance of the Plaza Caracol and Plaza Peninsula malls, and is near the malecón (boardwalk). It will be the fourth AMResorts property in Puerto Vallarta.
