A 246-room Hilton Home2 Suites will be constructed adjacent to Philadelphia's newly expanded Pennsylvania Convention Center. The $60 million extended-stay hotel will debut in the summer of 2013 at the corner of 12th and Arch streets with more than 2,000 square feet of meeting space. About 10,000 square feet on the ground floor will feature restaurants and retail outlets. The new-build will bring the total number of new hotel rooms under construction in Center City to more than 1,000. "To cap off hotel development," said Philadelphia CVB president and CEO Jack Ferguson, "we would ideally add another convention hotel to meet the needs of the expanded convention center, which has more than doubled in size."
