The 449-room Hotel Riu Palace Meloneras has reopened in Gran Canaria, Spain, following a nearly US$40 million renovation. All guest rooms were completely refurbished and feature new furniture, electronic safes and 42-inch satellite flat-screen televisions. A new 32-room building on the Meloneras promenade offers views of the Atlantic Ocean. Extensive renovations were completed on the outdoor areas as well. The resort now has six swimming pools and a new main restaurant that can accommodate most of the hotel's guests at once. The Krystal restaurant, Le Baroque lounge bar and Rose Mar lobby bar have been renovated, as well. Free Wi-Fi is available throughout the resort.
