Hyatt Hotels Corp. is putting major muscle behind Hyatt Centric, its experiential hotel brand, indicated by the announcement of three new hotels in Los Angeles, Philadelphia and Portland, Ore.Scheduled to open in early 2020, the 220-room Hyatt Centric Portland will be located in downtown. Following in mid-2020 will be the Hyatt Centric Philadelphia, which will offer 332 guest rooms in Philadelphia's Center City neighborhood. Finally, also in 2020 will come a 190-room Hyatt Centric in the Koreatown neighborhood of Los Angeles.

"The Hyatt Centric brand continues to grow with intent in new markets domestically and abroad. Hyatt Centric hotels put guests in the center of the action, enabling easy exploration of these cities' hidden gems and hot spots," said Heather Geisler, vice president of global brands for Hyatt. "The adventures Hyatt Centric guests will experience across these new destinations will be built on the same contemporary standards guests have come to expect from the Hyatt Centric brand."

Launched in 2015, the brand's full-service hotels cater to business and leisure travelers who want experiences in addition to accommodations. The goal is to put the guest "at the center of the action" in popular destinations, according to Hyatt, which so far has opened 22 Hyatt Centric hotels in seven countries, including the United States, Japan, Spain and France. Recent additions include the 208-room Hyatt Centric Brickell Miami, which has 7,500 square feet of meeting space; the 166-room Hyatt Centric San Isidro Lima in Peru, with 5,900 square feet of meeting space; and the 166-room Hyatt Centric Las Condes Santiago in Chile, which has 7,100 square feet of meeting space. 

Other Hyatt Centric properties previously announced will open Dakar, Senegal; San Salvador, El Salvador; and Melbourne, Australia. The first two will open later this year with 152 and 138 guest rooms, respectively, while the third is scheduled to debut in 2020 with 280 guest rooms.
