The 327-room Hyatt Regency Chennai opened yesterday in South India, 20 minutes from Anna International Airport. The property, which includes more than 20,000 square feet of event space, sits on the Bay of Bengal near the region's IT corridor and government institutions. Amenities include a fitness center, several food-and-beverage outlets and an outdoor pool. Artwork throughout the hotel features the Indian concept of madhu, kriti, vriti (the symbiotic relationship a bee shares with a flower) and comes from more than 40 international and national artists. The finishing touches still are being made to a Regency Club, the spa, the premium suites and an additional restaurant and bar.
