On April 1, the 2,019-room Hyatt Regency Chicago, the largest Hyatt in the world, will debut the results of a three-year renovation designed by architects at Bentel + Bentel. Most areas of the hotel were redone, including the East Tower lobby and the East and West Tower guest rooms, as well as the 228,000 square feet of meeting space. New concepts have been designed for the dining outlets; open since January is Stetsons Modern Steak + Sushi; opening next week are the American Craft kitchen and Bar, and the Big Bar. About $168 million was spent on the renovation.
