The 335-suite Hyatt Ziva Puerto Vallarta debuted just before Christmas, following a $20 million renovation and expansion to the site of the former Dreams Puerto Vallarta. The property is on Las Estacas Beach in the southern part of the resort town on Mexico's Pacific coast. Ziva is Hyatt's all-inclusive, all-ages resort brand, owned and operated by Playa Hotels & Resorts. The new property offers 1,250 feet of beachfront along its own cloistered cove, and 6,500 square feet of meeting and conference space, including a ballroom as well as outdoor garden and beach event spaces. A Zen-inspired Vitamar spa is on-site, as are four restaurants, five bars, pools for adults and children, and a fitness club. The resort is Hyatt's third all-inclusive property in Mexico, along with Hyatt Ziva Los Cabos and Hyatt Zilara CancĂșn. Hyatt Ziva Los Cabos is expected to reopen June 2015, following extensive renovations in the wake of Hurricane Odile; a fourth property, Hyatt Ziva CancĂșn, currently is under development.
