 InterContinental Hotels Group announced the launch Tuesday of a new hotel brand, Even, a U.S. flag that will debut in early 2013. The new brand focuses on health and wellness "at a mainstream price," according to IHG. The hotel company expects to sign contracts for 100 Even hotels within the next five years. The brand will stress four wellness priorities: exercise, food, work and rest. Guest rooms will be designed for in-room workouts, with amenities such as a coat rack that doubles as a pull-up bar, and hotels will offer personalized services with advice on fitness options and more. Menus will feature natural, fresh and energizing meals. Guest rooms also will have amenities such as hypoallergenic linens, natural lighting and antibacterial wipes. IHG plans to own and manage the first several Even hotels in key U.S. markets, and will announce the first location in the second quarter of this year. More information is available at
