The new 159-room Ithaca Marriott Downtown on the Commons in Ithaca, N.Y., will open next Monday, Dec. 12.
Located on Aurora Street, Ithaca's "Restaurant Row," the full-service hotel will have an indoor-outdoor restaurant, a fitness center, and 2,300 square feet of meeting space, including a ballroom for up to 175 people, and three meeting rooms with floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the Commons, the three-block pedestrian mall that constitutes the core of downtown Ithaca.
"Marriott Hotels has consistently pushed the boundaries of innovation in travel to create experiences that inspire and push our guests' creativity," said Matthew Carroll, vice president, Marriott Hotels. "This beautiful new hotel is a perfect example and we know visitors will be thrilled."
The hotel also is near Cornell University, Ithaca College and Tompkins Regional Airport, and will offer a complimentary shuttle to all three, as well as Cayuga Lake, the longest of the Finger Lakes.
"My team of seasoned professionals can't wait to welcome our first guests when we open our doors on Dec. 12," said General Manager Cathy Hart. "Ithaca Marriott will be the best-in-class hotel for this dynamic city in one of the most inspiring regions of New York State."
