In Australia, the 96-room Langham, Sydney, closed July 24 to complete a US$28 million renovation. The project will touch the lobby, dining areas, guest rooms and the ballroom. Art deco-inspired design and Calcutta marble will accent the lobby when the hotel reopens in November. The Palm Court will be redone, and the Kent Street Kitchen will begin serving an innovative menu highlighting local produce. The existing day spa will be transformed into the Chuan Spa, Langham's signature spa; the guest rooms will be outfitted with the Langham's Blissful Beds, and the ballroom will get a lavish new look accented with gold.
