Langham Hospitality Group introduced a new, international upscale hotel brand on Monday, Cordis Hotels and Resorts. Derived from the Latin term for the heart, the new brand will focus on service, connectivity, sophistication and community, according to the company. "Ultimately, it's all about the devotion to our guests' well-being during their stay with us," said Langham CEO Robert Warman. "That will be interpreted through our service values and special offerings, such as expansive meeting facilities, exciting restaurant social concepts, comprehensive kids' programs and tailored neighborhood excursions." The flag is expected to debut in May this year with the 652-room Cordis Hong Kong (rendered at left), a modern, family-friendly property. Management agreements and letters of intent also have been signed for seven additional hotels to open in the next three years, including five in China; one in Bali, Indonesia; and one in Colombo, Sri Lanka. Langham expects to grow the brand through both new-builds and conversion projects, in key cities in North America and Asia, such as New York, Miami, Los Angeles, Orlando, San Francisco, Dubai, Singapore and Thailand's Bangkok, as well as London.
