The 33-story, 390-room Residence Inn Calgary Downtown/Beltline District has debuted, according to Marriott international. The hotel is the largest property in the Residence Inn global portfolio, which spans 12 countries, including the United States, Canada, Europe, Central America and the Middle East. It also marks the 800th hotel for the Marriott International brand.

The new-build property is in Calgary's Stampede City neighborhood, on the spot where the historic Alberta Boot Co. once stood and steps away from major attractions such as the Scotiabank Saddledome, the Calgary Tower and Studio Bell, home of the National Music Centre. The property's sleek new design pays homage to the city's western history, from floor-to-ceiling murals depicting frontier life to cowboy-boot stitching in the headboards of guest rooms.

"Residence Inn Calgary Downtown/Beltline District has been one of our most highly anticipated launches in Canada, as it marks the brand's largest in the world," said Janis Milham, senior vice president and global brand leader of classic select brands for Marriott in a statement. "Canada has become a key market for the brand's continued expansion, and we look forward to Residence Inn's continued growth in the country."

The hotel, which caters to extended-stay guests, features studio and one-bedroom suites with dedicated living and sleeping areas, as well as fully equipped kitchens. Additional amenities include complimentary grocery delivery service, a daily hot breakfast, a 24-hour market, a common laundry room, a 24-hour fitness center, valet parking and 6,500 square feet of meeting and event space. The Lounge and Terrace restaurants offer full menus and regionally infused craft cocktails, plus a selection of West Coast wines and local beer. Scheduled to open later this year is a lobby wine bar.

"Stampede City is the perfect place for Marriott International to debut its 800th Residence Inn hotel, the largest Residence Inn in the world, and a flagship property for the brand," said Don Cleary, president of Marriott Hotels of Canada. "Calgary is a key market for extended-stay travel, and we are delighted to launch the city's third Residence Inn, widening the accommodation options available to business travelers whilst also putting Calgary's most popular cultural attractions within easy reach of our long-stay leisure guests."
