A 1,005-foot lazy river has debuted at the 222-room Woodlands Resort & Conference Center in the planned community outside Houston. The recreation amenity is the first project finished of an extensive renovation and expansion at the property. About $60 million is being spent to add a new 184-room wing and renovate the existing rooms; when work is finished in the fall, the property will have 406 rooms. The 60,000 square feet of meeting space at the resort, which is a member of the International Association of Conference Centers, is being renovated, as well, and a new steak house is being added.
