The 240-room Le Méridien Visconti Rome will open in late 2016; the property, currently undergoing extensive renovations, is a conversion of the Visconti Palace Hotel. The hotel is in the Prati district, near the Vatican and Castel Sant' Angelo, and within walking distance from the Piazza di Spagna, Piazza del Popolo, Villa Borghese, Piazza Navona and the Pantheon. Le Méridien Visconti Rome will have a rooftop terrace, an all-day dining restaurant, a breakfast room and a bar, as well as a fitness center.

"We look forward to establishing a long-term and mutually beneficial relationship with the Toti Group and thank them for putting their trust in Starwood," said Michael Wale, president, Starwood Hotels & Resorts, Europe, Africa and Middle East. "We are excited to reintroduce Le Méridien into Italy and unlock the Eternal City and its rich culture for our guests and curious-minded travelers."
