All 225 guest rooms will be redone in suit-like tones and fabrics such as hounds' tooth, gray flannel and herringbone. In-room technology will be upgraded as well. The décor of the six meeting rooms, including a new "half" ballroom that seats 100, will honor the Boston Police department, which used to be headquartered in the building when it was built in 1925. The Cuffs Bar and Stanhope Restaurant have closed; a new dining establishment serving American fare with a French touch will be unveiled when construction is finished in late March.
