Loews Hotels & Resorts has named S. Kirk Kinsell as its new president and CEO, effective March 2, 2015. Current CEO Paul Whetsell will remain so until then to ensure a smooth transition, at which point he will become vice chairman. Jonathan Tisch will continue in his role as chairman. Kinsell, who has 35 years of hospitality experience, has held senior positions with InterContinental Hotels Group for nearly two decades, most recently as president of the Americas region. Kinsell was responsible for the business development and performance of all of IHG's brands and properties in that region. “Kirk’s broad experience in development, sales and brand operations makes him an ideal choice to lead Loews Hotels forward in our next phase of growth and operational excellence,” said Tisch, who went on to thank Whetsell for his leadership and role in growing the brand to this point. Kinsell will leave his post at IHG in February.
