The 616-room Louisville Marriott Downtown will get a $30 million facelift beginning this this month. The renovation, which will be completed in August 2018, will have five phases. The first phase will see the Champions Sport Bar & Grille transformed into The Porch, which will offer comfort food incorporating local ingredients and craft cocktails. The second phase will upgrade the lobby; latter phases will refurbish guest rooms, the hotel's 50,000 square feet of meeting space and the M Lounge.
"This renovation is part of the evolution of Louisville," said David Greene, general manager of the Louisville Marriott Downtown. "We believe this a growing market with opportunities to attract high-rated convention business and leisure travelers. With the convention center under construction, we believe now is the right time to renovate the Marriott. Our $30 million renovation is being done with Marriott's industry-leading innovation in design, technology and service delivery. With the best-in-class service we are known for at the Louisville Marriott, we will continue to be the hotel of choice for your home away from home."
"As this project and a previous renovation illustrates, the Louisville Downtown Marriott is not resting on its reputation as a marquee convention hotel," said Louisville Mayor Greg Fischer. "Instead, the Marriott is completely rethinking the 21st Century customer experience and expectations, and making changes that will be great for convention-goers and other visitors, and great for our downtown."
