Paris-based Louvre Hotels Group, which was acquired by Starwood Capital in 2005, is expanding its portfolio with further acquisitions. The company said it has purchased German hotel company Nordic Hotels AG, which owns 25 properties in Germany, representing 1,816 rooms. The deal doubles Louvre Hotels' portfolio in Germany. Of the 25 hotels acquired, 11 are full-service properties with either four or three stars.

In July 2009, Louvre joined forces with Golden Tulip Hospitality Group, significantly expanding its global footprint. Louvre currently has 1,100 hotels in 40 countries. Its brands include Golden Tulip, Royal Tulip and Première Class.
