Alvin D. James, a broadcasting industry executive, is planning to develop a $350 million, 250-room luxury hotel along Midtown's Peachtree Lane, across from the High Museum of Art, according to the Atlanta Business Chronicle. James is reportedly talking with three international hotel brands, one of which will provide a flag for the hotel. Amenities include a spa, three restaurants, two pools, a fitness center and a fine-art museum on-site. Construction should take 18 to 24 months, with the property opening in the spring of 2012.
