The 166-room Cliff House Resort & Spa in Ogunquit, Maine, has installed one of the state's largest solar thermal projects, hoping to save about 11,000 gallons of propane each year and to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 140,000 pounds a year. The solar energy will provide heat and hot water for the spa building, which offers 32 guest rooms and 10 treatment rooms. The property has more than 13,700 square feet of meeting space.
