Marriott has signed management agreements for seven hotels in China, and has announced its intention to double its portfolio there in about five years. The company expects to have 60 properties in the country by the end of this year, including eight Ritz-Carlton hotels. The seven new properties are the 320-room JW Marriott Hotel Dalian, to open in 2013; the 507-room Renaissance Sanya Resort & Spa, opening in 2011; the 269-room Renaissance Zhuhai Hotel, to open in 2013; the 260-room Courtyard by Marriott Fuzhou Hotel, to open in 2013; the 265-room Courtyard by Marriott Kunshan, to open in 2011; the 350-room Hangzhou Marriott Hotel, to open in 2014, and the 330-room Shanghai Marriott Hotel Minhang, opening in 2015.
