Marriott has announced three new mid-market hotels for Brazil: the 165-room Fairfield Inn by Marriott in Porto Alegre, Rio Grande do Sul; and a 160-room Fairfield Inn by Marriott and a 158-room Courtyard by Marriott, both in Curitiba, Parana. The Fairfield properties will open in the first half of 2014, before the World Cup takes place that summer, while the Courtyard hotel will debut in early 2015. "These three new properties reaffirm the company's commitment to Brazil and mark the start of our aggressive growth plans in the country," said Marriott president and CEO Arne Sorenson. The Courtyard by Marriott Curitiba will offer a casual restaurant, meeting space, a swimming pool and a fitness center.
