Hotels in Minneapolis reached a 72 percent occupancy in 2013, according to Meet Minneapolis, Convention and Visitors Association, the city's destination marketing organization. The last time the annual hotel occupancy was above 70 percent was in 2007, and the last time occupancy reached 72 percent was in 2005. At the height of the recession in 2009, occupancy rates were at a low of 59 percent.
