The Ramada Oasis Hotel & Convention Center in Springfield, Mo., will begin renovations this fall, adding 13,000 square feet of meeting space to the convention center. The work includes the addition of a ballroom that will accommodate up to 1,300 people for a banquet; it will be divisible into three smaller rooms that will hold 150 to 250 guests each. The project also will add a new convention center lobby with an enclosed walkway to the 173-room Ramada Oasis Hotel and the Fire & Ice Restaurant & Bar. Groundbreaking is scheduled for Oct. 1, and the work will be completed next May. When finished, the complex will feature nearly 30,000 square feet of meeting space. The property will remain open during the expansion, except for a two-week period at the beginning of May 2012.
