Ground has been broken on a new resort hotel in Montana's ski mecca, Big Sky. The 150-room Montage Big Sky will open in 2021. Less than an hour from Bozeman-Yellowstone International Airport and about 45-minutes from Yellowstone National Park, the property will offer year-round outdoor activities for guests.

"We are proud to announce the addition of Montage Big Sky to the Montage Hotels & Resorts collection," said Alan J. Fuerstman, founder, chairman and CEO of Montage International. "The stunning natural beauty of Big Sky and ease of access to a world-class array of outdoor recreation makes this an extraordinary destination. With our partners at CrossHarbor, we are eager to bring an elevated, welcoming resort experience to guests and residents of this remarkable community."

The $400 million resort will sport a "mountain modern" design to match its natural setting. Amenities will include a full-service restaurant, a lobby bar and lounge, a market and a pub. Indoor activities will be available in the recreation room with a bowling alley, the indoor lap pool, the family swimming pool, the fitness center and the signature Spa Montage. Groups will have access to 12,870 square feet of meeting space, and the resort will also feature the brand's immersive children's program, Paintbox.

Winter athletes will have ski-in, ski-out access to Big Sky Resort's 5,800 acres; when the snow is gone, guests will be able to play on Spanish Peaks Mountain Club's 18-hole Tom Weiskopf golf course, just steps from the resort. The resort is close to hiking, mountain-biking, cross-country skiing and snowshoeing trails, and three top-notch fly-fishing rivers are nearby.
