The 183-room Mountain Shadows has opened on the site of the iconic Marriott Mountain Shadows Resort, which was demolished in 2014. This new boutique luxury property includes 31 hotel-condominium units.
For meetings and events, the resort offers 12,500 square feet of indoor space and another 25,000 square feet for outdoor gatherings. Several food-and-beverage outlets are also on-site, including Hearth '61, which features American cuisine and a spacious patio with stunning views of the desert landscape and Camelback Mountain.
Other amenities include two 75-foot swimming pools with private cabanas, and a fitness center with top-of-the-line equipment and classes ranging from aerial yoga to TRX and barre; guided Camelback Mountain hikes also are available.
Designed by renowned golf-course architect Forrest Richardson, the Short Course is Mountain Shadow's relatively quick-play 18-hole par-3 layout, one of only a handful of such links in the United States. With views of Camelback and Mummy Mountains and scenic desert surroundings, the course is designed to be challenging for experienced golfers yet approachable for novice players. The facility also includes an innovative bonus hole and a practice putting green.
