According to the Metro Regional Government, which oversees Portland, Ore., and its surroundings, negotiations with a developer for a headquarters hotel that will service the Oregon Convention Center will carry into 2014, pushing back the project's timeline by a few months. The details are being hammered out with Minneapolis-based Mortenson Development, which wants to build a $197.5 million, 600-room Hyatt hotel. Any development agreement would have to be approved by the Metro Council; considering its last meeting of 2013 is scheduled for Dec. 19, the odds are unlikely a deal will be reached this year.
