Wild Dunes Resort, an oceanfront meeting destination on the Isle of Palms, S.C., 30 minutes outside of downtown Charleston, is adding a new 153-room hotel with conference center that is slated to open in early 2021.
This new addition will bring its total guestrooms and suites to 400, in addition to the existing 240 vacation rental homes and condos. The conference center will include 11,000 square feet of meeting and event space with a grand ballroom with pre-function space as well as a rooftop ballroom and event terrace with ocean views. The resort will now be able to accommodate groups of up to 650.
Wild Dunes Resort's expansion will also include a 14-treatment room spa, fitness center and dedicated arrival experience and welcome center.
"Wild Dunes Resort's new hotel will offer more meeting space than many other resorts and hotels in the Charleston area, offering an additional 11,000 square feet bringing our resort total to 61,000 square feet of meetings and event space," said Frank Fredericks, managing director at Wild Dunes Resort. "We can't wait to reveal our new state-of-the-art amenities ranging from a rooftop terrace with ocean views to a destination spa ideal for large businesses and leisure groups including wedding parties to enjoy a Lowcountry getaway."
The Resort encompasses 1,600 acres offering a variety of accommodations including the 93-room Boardwalk Inn, The Village at Wild Dunes that has 150 rooms and suites and a mix of private condos and luxury home rentals. The resort includes two golf courses, tennis courts, beach access and activities, nature walks and spas.
