The 325-room Hyatt Regency Houston Galleria isnow open, part of the mixed-use Galleria Plaza development. Debuting there in early 2016 is the Hyatt Place Houston Galleria, adjacent to the new Hyatt Regency.

"We are delighted to welcome guests and the local community to our new hotel, located in the heart of one of Houston's fastest-growing neighborhoods and premiere shopping destinations," said Area Manager Adam Patenaude. "Here, travelers can leave every detail to our dedicated hotel team, so they are free to break from routine if they choose or simply do things they way they want to do them."

The guest-room design was inspired by the oil and gas industry using built-in furnishings to make the rooms more spacious. Each comes with a 55-inch flat-screen TV with plug-and-play capabilities from personal devices, plus free high-speed Internet access, a minifridge, a coffeemaker and a signature Hyatt Grand Bed.

For dining, the hotel offers the Urban Star restaurant, bar and market featuring seasonal menus and local ingredients. More than 11,000 square feet of meeting space is available, along with a heated outdoor pool and sun deck, and a StayFit gym.
