The 180-room Kimpton Aertson Hotel has opened in the Music City's trendy midtown district near Vanderbilt University.

The property, which features an industrial-chic design and commissioned artwork, is the centerpiece of the Aertson Midtown mixed-use project. Planners will find more than 8,600 square feet of meeting and event space, including a ballroom with a private balcony offering views of downtown, an executive boardroom and three additional spaces. Guests can dine or take in the bar scene at Henley, featuring modern American brasserie dishes created by James Beard Award-winning chef RJ Cooper. The restaurant can accommodate private dining at its chef's table, the Snooker Room and the outdoor patio; the eatery also accepts group buyouts.

Among the hotel's other amenities are a rooftop pool with chaise longues, including some placed into the water at the zero-depth shallow end, and cabanas. The property has a fitness center, which will be joined this fall by the Woodhouse Spa. Guests also can tour the city by wheel, courtesy of the Kimpton Aerton's complimentary bicycle-loaner program, which features Public cruiser bikes.
