Marriott International will open the 134-room W Algarve in 2018 in Portugal's southernmost region. The property will be part of Marriott's new W Escape portfolio of hotels in ski, sand and entertainment destinations around the world; currently there are 10 properties in the collection.

The W Algarve will offer three beaches, a Wet deck pool, a 10,000-square-foot spa and a Fit workout facility. Cocktails and cuisine will be served at the W Living Room, the W's spin on the hotel lobby, and a restaurant whose details have yet to be announced. For groups, there will be 5,400 square feet of meeting space, as well as outdoor facilities.
