The Hotel Saranac has unveiled its four-year, $35 million renovation. The landmark upstate New York property, now part of the Curio Collection by Hilton, has 82 guest rooms in its main building. Another 20 suites will be in Compass Point, an adjacent complex that will open later this year, giving the hotel a total of 102 guest rooms.

The guest quarters have been reimagined by RSJ Associates with the goal of giving them a modern touch while still maintaining the feel of the Great Gatsby era. Each guest room features original, retro-inspired travel posters specially commissioned for the hotel, incorporating native symbols from the region.

The hotel has four meeting rooms, including a ballroom. Other amenities include the Ampersand Salon & Spa, featuring treatments using local ingredients like pine, birch and maple; the Campfire Adirondack Grill + Bar, with an "Adirondack-to-table" menu based on local game, fish, produce and maple syrup; and Academy & Main, the hotel's retail arcade, with 20 miniboutiques selling everything from house-made candy to locally sourced, artisan-made goods. Hotel Saranac's Great Hall, an original public space designed to resemble a Florentine palazzo, features an intimate fireplace setting and the Great Hall bar.
