The 259-room Mohonk Mountain House resort in New Paltz, N.Y., closed since last Friday after a number of guests and staff contracted an intestinal virus, will reopen Friday, according to press reports. The historic hotel has hired a private firm to thoroughly sanitize the property. In a statement, hotel president Bert Smiley said the property was working with health officials to resolve the matter as quickly and efficiently as possible. "Working with the Ulster County and New York State departments of health, we have already implemented many recommended measures to address this issue and have determined that further action needs to be taken," he said.
