Explora, a South American adventure-travel operator, will debut the 50-room Explora Valle Sagrado, its first lodge in Peru, next July. The Valle Sagrado, or Sacred Valley of the Incas, is about 90 minutes from the city of Cusco. At an altitude of about 9,500 feet above sea level, the Valle Sagrado often is used as an acclimation point for travelers on their way to the loftier elevation of Cusco and the ruins of Machu Picchu.

The Explora Valle Sagrado lodge will be on a terraced Inca corn plantation within a secluded hacienda estate. Explora will be offering a variety of packages for groups, featuring more than 20 excursions. Reservations are now being accepted in advance of the July 1, 2016, opening date.
