Thailand-based ONYX Hospitality Group will open its first property in Vietnam in 2016. The 364-room OZO Hoi An is scheduled to open in the new Hoi An City area in late 2016, part of a development project that will include a retail complex, a dining and entertainment village, as well as residential apartments and recreational facilities.

"Vietnam is one of the region's fastest growing travel destinations, and we are excited to have OZO Hoi An as part of our continuing expansion plans. With the increasing popularity of Vietnam's South Central Coast amongst regional and international visitors, we have identified a gap in the market for a select service hotel like OZO. We look forward to collaborating with HB Group in introducing our unique OZO brand concept to Vietnam," said Peter Henley, CEO of ONYX Hospitality Group in a statement announcing the project.

ONYX currently has 31 hotels in Asia Pacific and the Middle East. Its brands include Amari, Ozo, Saffron, Shama, and The Mosaic Collection.
