Omni Hotels has debuted Omni Meetings University, a new online meeting-planner educational portal. The program is meant to educate planners about the Omni brand, in addition to meetings industry and technology trends. Each planner who completes the program -- which is accredited by the CIC for continuing education -- will be named an Omni Meetings Specialist and receive a personalized fam trip, automatic upgrade to Platinum status in Omni's Select Guest loyalty program, and a 5 percent discount on their group's master account for the first meeting contracted after the course. The program, which was officially unveiled at Omni's Be Collaborative roadshow, is based on another Omni portal, Travel Agent University. "Omni Meetings University is another example of how we collaborate with our partners, and it demonstrates our commitment to their professional development," said Omni vice president of sales Tom Faust.
