Omni Hotels & Resorts formally rebranded the Westin Hotel in Providence, R.I., yesterday (TUES) as the Omni Providence Hotel. Omni acquired the 564-room property from the Procaccianti Group in late 2012. The hotel will undergo renovations later this year with a focus on the lobby, meetings spaces and guest rooms. Josh Heidenreich, former general manager of the Omni New Haven Hotel in Connecticut, is relocating to Providence to be the new general manager of the hotel, which is connected to the Rhode Island Convention Center. The property has 23,000 square feet of its own meeting space.
