The 703-room Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas is offering guests a 24-hour stay at the price of a daily rate. For example, a guest who arrives at 8 p.m. on a Friday is permitted to check out at 8 p.m on his or her day of departure. Palms claims it is the first hotel to offer such a service in the U.S. To be eligible, a guest must book on and indicate the expected check-in time when booking. The standard check-in time is 3 p.m.; earlier arrivals will receive the next available room. The guest will then receive a text message from the hotel on the day of departure, which will serve as a reminder of the checkout time. Guests who check in after 11 p.m. will be able to check out as late as 11 p.m. on the day of departure. The service is not available for group bookings or existing reservations.
