A new Park Hyatt hotel has opened in Mallorca, Spain, in the Balaeric Islands, Hyatt Hotels Corp. announced last week.

Hyatt's first property in Mallorca and the first Park Hyatt in all of Europe, the Park Hyatt Mallorca is in the Cap Vermell Estate, a secluded area on the Mediterranean island's northeast coast. Designed in the style of an authentic Mallorquín village -- complete with a village square, known as Plaza de la Torre - the hotel features 142 guest rooms, five restaurants, three swimming pools and a spa. Guests also will have access to the forthcoming Cap Vermell country club, which upon completion in July will offer paddleball, tennis and two more pools.

For meetings, the resort includes the Residence, a venue with multiple meeting spaces, including a purpose-built show kitchen that opens onto a Mallorquín courtyard, and a 2,400-square-foot ballroom featuring a terrace and access to a landscaped garden.

"The opening of our first Park Hyatt European resort marks a significant milestone for Hyatt and underlines our commitment to meaningful and strategic growth in this region, where we know our guests are traveling," said Peter Fulton, Hyatt's group president for Europe, Middle East and Africa, as well as Southwest Asia. "Park Hyatt hotels are internationally renowned for their understated luxury and sophistication, and we are pleased to bring this experience to the Balaeric Islands."
