Pebble Beach Resorts in California will debut its new Fairway One complex at The Lodge in August. The upscale development, which will face the left side of the course's first fairway, will add 38 guest rooms to The Lodge, for a total of 199 rooms. Three two-story buildings will house 30 of those new guest rooms, while two four-bedroom golf cottages will account for the rest.
Fairway One will offer premium, oversized rooms with personalized service and impressive views of the ocean, garden and golf course. "The golf cottages will provide a product we haven't offered in the past," said David Stivers, executive vice president and chief administrative officer of Pebble Beach Co. "They'll be our version of the Butler Cabin at Augusta National. It'll be perfect for a buddies trip, two couples wanting a premier Pebble Beach experience, small wedding parties or small corporate groups. Each of the cottages has a 1,000-square-foot living room, so a small group might use that for meetings before going out to golf."
In addition to the living rooms, each cottage will have two king bedrooms, two two-queen bedrooms and an outdoor terrace with a fire pit. The living rooms will be equipped with wood-burning, floor-to-ceiling stone fireplaces; two 55-inch HDTVs; wet bars; dining areas, and oversized furniture.
Fairway One also includes a new meeting facility anchored by a 2,500-square-foot meeting room, with floor-to-ceiling windows offering views up the first fairway and toward the first green. A 1,000-square-foot living area adjoining the meeting room will act as prefunction space. A 700-square-foot boardroom will be available as well, as will a 2,200-square-foot terrace outside the meeting rooms.
A number of other renovations are ongoing at Pebble Beach Resorts, slated to wrap up in 2019 to celebrate the venue's 100th anniversary. Guest rooms at The Lodge, The Inn and Casa Palmero all are being upgraded. Renovations at The Lodge include a 30 percent expansion of the window walls in all oceanfront rooms to maximize views. Oceanfront patios and decks will double in size, to increase the outdoor living and leisure space. Window walls in the rooms at The Inn also will be reconfigured to take advantage of views. By 2019, all 454 guest rooms, across all properties, will have been completely renovated.
