Pendry Hotels, a new luxury hotel brand from Montage International, has opened its first property, the 317-room Pendry San Diego. The new-build is located in the Gaslamp Quarter, just a few blocks from Petco Park and the San Diego Convention Center.

"We wanted to take our extensive experience in hospitality and combine it with our vision of modern-day luxury and style…rooted in local culture, beautiful design, international inspiration and authentic service," explained Pendry Hotels creative director and co-founder, Michael Fuerstman. "It's a hotel experience that should feel organic and luxurious at the same time, and the San Diego property will bring that vision to life beautifully."

The hotel features a dynamic lobby area built for work, relaxation, socializing and dining. There are a half-dozen food-and-beverage venues on-site, among them three restaurants: Provisional Kitchen, Cafe & Mercantile, a restaurant and marketplace with a communal dining space and a Vittoria Coffee espresso bar; Nason's Beer Hall, which offers global comfort food, local and international beers, and vintage bar games; and the dinner-only Lionfish, which specializes in coastal cuisine and seasonal, local ingredients. Other gathering spots include Fifth & Rose, a sophisticated, comfortable lounge with specialty cocktails and elevated bar fare; Oxford Social Club, a late-night club open Thursdays through Saturdays; and The Pool House, a rooftop lounge with impressive views of the neighborhood.

Also on-site are a pool, the Spa Pendry, and 35,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor event space, including a grand ballroom and a private poolside deck.

Pendry's second property, the Sagamore Pendry Baltimore, is scheduled to open next month in Baltimore's Fell's Point neighborhood.
