The 1,408-room Philadelphia Marriott Downtown, which is connected via skywalk to the Pennsylvania Convention Center, will begin a $57 million renovation this month. The hotel's 100,000 square feet of meeting space will be updated with new carpeting, paint, air walls, lighting, audio systems and more. That work will wrap up in March, to coincide with the debut of the newly renovated adjacent convention center. All guest rooms will be updated with the latest Marriott room design; the first refurbished rooms will be available by January, with that part of the project scheduled to conclude in August.
