The 1,408-room Philadelphia Marriott Downtown unveiled a $17 million renovation of its meeting space this week. Highlights of the project include new lighting and audio systems, an electronic reader-board system, new carpeting and wall vinyl, new air walls and a redesign of the sky bridge that connects the property to the Pennsylvania Convention Center. All of the property's 92,000 square feet of event space, including 72 meeting rooms, were refurbished. The largest meeting room on-site, the 34,300-square-foot Grand Ballroom, can accommodate up to 4,500 people.
