A 10-acre pool complex opens this weekend at the 1,511-room Gaylord Texan Resort in Grapevine. Among the area's features are a lazy river, a 6,000-square-foot family lagoon, two hot pools, a 27-foot water slide and a water basketball court. The game pavilion offers a campfire pit, bocce, croquet and shuffleboard. Nearly 1,300 chairs are scattered on the decks, and private cabanas have TVs and fire pits. Food is available from the full-service pool bar and grill and a concession stand. The complex has been built with an eye to events: Three private reception areas with music and staging capabilities can be reserved separately or combined to host up to 3,200 guests.
