Last week the Palm Beach County Board of County Commissioners approved real-estate firm Related Companies LP as developers of the 400-room Palm Beach Convention Center Hotel, to be built as a Hilton hotel in West Palm Beach, Fla. The next step is to discuss financing and contract negotiations with Related Companies, a process that should take four to six months. According to the developer, a timeline has not been set. However, Crain's New York Business reports construction will take more than two years, with the hotel opening in 2014.
