The United Arab Emirates' first Renaissance hotel will open in December in Dubai. Near the iconic Burj Khalifa, the Renaissance Downtown Hotel, Dubai, will have 298 guest rooms and an unspecified amount of meeting space.
Although details are scarce, highlights will include a speakeasy-style cocktail bar, an onsite spa, and four restaurants, including two helmed by celebrity chefs: a French restaurant from David Myers and a Japanese restaurant from Morimoto.
The Renaissance is one of several hotels Marriott plans to open in the UAE this year. Other properties debuting there soon include Abu Dhabi's first Marriott Hotel, the 315-room Marriott Hotel Downtown Abu Dhabi; the 86-room La Ville Hotel City Walk Dubai, and the 500-room Polynesian-themed Lapita Hotel. The latter two will all be part of Marriott's Autograph Collection.
"The Renaissance Downtown Hotel, Dubai, will be a truly unique offering within the UAE hospitality sector, as it is a highly appealing lifestyle option for both business and leisure travelers," said Alex Kyriakidis, president and managing director, Middle East & Africa, Marriott International. "The debut, alongside the opening of our flagship Marriott Hotels brand and two other Autograph Collection properties, [makes] for a very attractive luxury lifestyle proposition in the UAE."
