To celebrate its 10th anniversary, the SLS Hotel, a Luxury Collection Hotel in Beverly Hills, has unveiled a $22 million redesign project. The iconic Los Angeles hotel made over all 234 guest rooms and 63 suites with a lighter palette and more refined character, and upgraded technology and amenities in the process. Other improvements include new locally inspired guest programming, a renovated Garden Terrace events space, and new culinary and cocktail experiences.
"The next chapter of SLS Beverly Hills reflects the hotel's unique location at the crossroads of Los Angeles and Beverly Hills: the epicenter of modern luxury, the entertainment industry and Southern California's relaxed-yet-effervescent personality," said general manager Christophe Thomas. "We're excited to provide visitors with the quintessential L.A. experience, and accommodations that foster comfort and relaxation, while inspiring adventure and creativity."

New design touches retain the whimsical style of the original look but with additional elements -- such as the custom-made vintage map of Los Angeles that is embedded on top of the media center. Certain points of interest are highlighted to reflect SLS recommendations.

Guest rooms now have strategically placed USB ports and outlets, high-speed WiFi routers in every room, and 55-inch HD Smart TVs, while the bathrooms now feature with rainfall showers or oversized soaking tubs. Two new suite categories, the Style Suite and the Storyseeker Suite, offer separate sleeping and living areas. And the 1,900-square-foot Presidential Suite includes four distinct rooms, including a study filled with L.A.-centric art and books, and a dining room with chandelier and cherry-oak dining table.

The hotel's culinary director, acclaimed chef José Andrés, recently debuted Somni, a 10-seat chef's counter with a 20-plus course tasting menu. The exhibition kitchen space is a whimsical work of art itself.

New concierge-created guest programming at the hotel includes Destination Discoveries, a biweekly walking tour that begins with the hotel's history and continues into the West 3rd St. neighborhood; the SLS Salute at Altitude Pool, a daily poolside toasting ritual in which guests can opt for the Saint (a fresh-squeezed wellness shot) or the Sinner (the bartender's cocktail recipe of the day); and the Bazaar Signature Cocktail Tasting at Bar Centro, a weekly introduction to the venue's mixology program.
