Starwood has reached a tentative settlement with Unite Here Local 2 in San Francisco, the hotel worker’s union whose contracts expired in 2009. The contract is identical to one reached by the union with Hilton last month and includes a $2 per hour wage increase over the next two years, health-care coverage, increases in pension payments and a reduction in workload for housekeeping staff. Starwood’s Westin St. Francis, the Sheraton Place Hotel and the St. Regis all have reached tentative agreements with the union, while W Hotel negotiations continue in lieu of previously announced food-service layoffs. Parties will vote on the bill today.
